GIFTED 2015 RUNNER-UP
A huge congratulations to Beth who has been awarded Runner Up in our Gifted? 2015 Competition.
Beth will receive a 1 month paid placement and a creative book of her choice.
Beth is currently studying illustration at Falmouth university about to go into the third year.
Why Brief 1?
Tigerprint is a design company she has always been interested in and regularly follows our other competitions.
When Beth saw the Gifted? competition she knew it would be good fit for her style of work and really inspired her to get drawing and coming up with different concepts for each of the three categories.
The brief Beth decided to go for was party ware, as she wanted to push some of her ideas and create a collection that was slightly different.
Beth's theme is young explorer, within this concept she wanted children to be able to interact with a range of products and feel like they are part of an adventure.
Beth came up with a range of ideas such as using animals footprints to show directions to different areas of the party or use as an adventure trial to find different animals around the party.
For the invitations she thought making them into passports would an unusual twist, so that each child attending the party has to bring their passport with them and get stamped when they arrived.
In addition to this throughout there would be decorations that are jungle themed so that they set the scene, and by the end of the party the aim would be for all of the children to received a party bag (in the shape of binoculars) and a badge showing they are a qualified young explorer.
The reason why Beth selected this theme was because she thinks it is creative and will engage and excite children. It is a theme that is interactive and educational and will hopefully be fun for everyone involved.
